Smokey McCracken began his road trip in Orillia, in search of a meeting with Canadian comic Martin Short. July 2002, Short appeared live on stage at Rama, where the two met over dinner to discuss their travels. SM: I am going to meet the Dali Lama this year. I want to find my Chi. Have you ever been to Tibet Mr. Short? MS: Yes. I have. It’s truly an amazing land. I believe Chi means to foster a calm and tranquil mind, doesn’t it? Is that what you’re looking for Mr. McCracken? SM: I was told men with Chi have hairy chests. See my sexy chest? I need to find some Chi. Show me your Chi. MS: Oh my God, get me out of here! (screamed like a girl while running out of the restaurant) Unfortunately, Smokey’s first celebrity interview was short.
